The kind of lawyer I am…

I formed Business Law Centre to provide small business clients, entrepreneurs, and professionals with an alternative to the traditional law firm experience. Specifically, I take a “business first, law second” approach, meaning that I make sure I thoroughly understand my clients’ business objectives and then use the “law” as a tool to make those business objectives a reality.

Whether you need me to negotiate a dispute, draft legal documents, conduct a workplace investigation, or advise you on a business or employment legal matter, I will work hard for you and use my best efforts to achieve the desired business outcome. Last but not least, I will respond promptly to your telephone and email inquiries.

Before I was a lawyer…

Before becoming a lawyer I owned and operated several small businesses and worked in management for one of the world’s largest shipping and delivery companies. I loved running and managing businesses; in particular, I enjoy figuring out all the intricacies and overcoming the challenges inherent in creating a successful business.

Then I became a lawyer…

I graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1998 and worked for a large law firm in Portland before opening Business Law Centre in 1999. In 2008, I moved Business Law Centre to its new location to better serve its clients.

I also participate in other professional and civic activities…

I served as a member of the faculty at the University of Oregon School of Law from 2004 to 2010 as the Director of the Small Business Clinic. I enjoy teaching and working with students and believe that my teaching experience helped to make me a better lawyer. I currently serve on the Advisory Board for Committed Partners for Youth-Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lane County, a local non-profit youth mentoring organization.
